Now this is a topic I’ve wanted to write about for a while. In case, you didn’t know I’m a fashion and beauty lover. I love watching the runway shows, I love watching vogue’s beauty videos and I love flipping through vogue magazines. Watching skin care routines, makeup routines, learning new techniques and trying new makeup looks. And, what’s even more fun is learning and watching from supermodels, designers, artists and so many more influential women. Now let’s look at what is an it girl and what it means to be an it girl. An it girl is usually the pretty, popular one. She’s confident, attractive, trendy and everyone wants to be friends with her. They’re usually socialites, supermodels, and actresses. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be an it girl if you’re not photographed in magazine covers or have a billboard with your face on it. You can be an it girl if you follow these next steps:
Step 1: Having confidence
One of the most important qualities every it girl has is confidence. The way you carry yourself, the way you set your own standard. Confident women do not need other people’s approvals about who they want to be. There’s no such thing as an outfit that only looks good on certain body types. You shouldn’t be ashamed of dressing the way you would want to, it’s what defines and pleases you. Confident women don’t feel like they don’t belong when they’re entering the room. They enter knowing that they’re meant to be in there. Now a lot of people say or believe that an it girl is always on trend which is true. However, you don’t always have to follow what’s trending. Of course, it looks good in the current moment but you know what looks even better? Standing out. That’s right, set up your own trends wear what you want and walk around like the pretty, fashion icon that you are. What’s different will always stand out and why would you want to look the same as everyone else?
Step 2: Self care
This is so important not just for your it girl transformation but it’s also taking care of yourself and appreciating your own skin. Taking care of your body, mind and spirit will help you elevate and put you on the right path. I know it’s so inspiring to make pinterest boards of healthy meals, matcha, smoothies and workout motivations but to be like them you have to start with yourself. Sure, the change will be hard at first but it’ll benefit your health and your improve your mental health as well. Yes, we all would rather sit on our couch and eat lots of junk food and binge watch tv shows but; not on a daily basis. We should always be active with our bodies, and you don’t even have to go to the gym. You could be active by walking your dog or going for a jog or even working out at home. But, we also need to include more healthy foods in our diet as well. On the topic of diets, it’s not just the food that we’re consuming in our lives. It’s what you watch, what you listen to and read about. The less screen time you spend, the better. It’s honestly so refreshing to read books and just indulge in some great written work that’s inspiring. You’re being That girl that’s pretty and loves to read…like you’re a dream. Another important step in self care that should be a literal priority for everyone is of course skincare. Do not neglect your skin. It’s essential for you to keep your skin glowing and in good conditions. So invest in your skincare. This is something that will benefit you in the long run. You’ll look back one day and be thankful for using your everyday cleanser, sun screen, and moisturizer.
Step 3: Recognizing how powerful you are
Now this is where it all starts. This is what makes everyone see how attractive you are, it’s your power. We all have power within us, we exude it. But, some of us might be scared or anxious. Some of us keep it hidden. Unaware of how our power can change us for the better. Or sometimes we might not feel like we really have it but we do. We all do. So people become aware of it earlier than others and master it perfectly. And it’s never too late for you to do the same. You have the potential, you have the capability. So, you need to start thinking more like it! You are the it girl, you are a dream girl, you are who you want to be. You are the standard! It’s time that you start shifting your mindset and truly embrace how powerful you are. All your qualities that make you who you are. Your style, your brand, your aura. It’s how you leave your mark. You can have it all and you will.
